Rock Star

It takes a tough pair of heels to walk next to a superhorse, and mine are getting trashed. This is Saratoga Springs, New York, Saratoga racetrack, Jim Dandy stakes day. That's me in the cream dress and vintage heels, poking holes into the mud. I'm walking next to Street Sense, winner of over 2 million dollars and the 2007 Kentucky Derby. His name is on the walls of Churchill Downs next to Secretariat, Barbaro, Charismatic, and War Admiral. He knows this.

He wants you for a Green Card?
Once upon a time, there was a small girl that dreamed of true love like all the little girls who watch disney movies. She had visions of being a Princess who would one day meet her Prince from a faraway land like in the fairy tales. She always loved watching romantic movies. You know the ones that entice you from childhood like Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast and Snow White. Those thoughts never fade because for the older girls who love movies like the Sound of Music, all the way to Braveheart and the Last Samurai. Movies like these inspired her to know her Prince is out there somewhere and she will find him but he's just faraway in another land.

Two Gems in San Diego County aiding in Conservation

With the barrage of headlines ranging from declining polar bear populations to glacial melting to heat waves and hurricanes, it seems like the world is plunging into the fiery depths of an uncertain and unfathomable future faster than we can drink a can of coke and recycle its aluminum housing. Yet, in one small corner of this amazing planet called Earth there is a place known as San Diego which harbors two gems proving all is not lost. It is where passionate crusaders from every social class can embark on a mesmerizing journey into Southeast Asia where the clouded leopard’s beautiful coat glistens in the sun, break for lunch, and stroll over to the Australian Outback where Koalas curl up in the branches of eucalyptus trees. It is where exploring the wildlife of North America from bighorn sheep to porcupines and witnessing a cheetah’s incredible speed is a reality that no so-called reality television show can even communicate effectively even in high-definition. Oh, did I mention that while you’re experiencing some of Mother Nature’s finest works, you and your family will be actually helping to save the Earth? Does it sound too good to be true? If so, than allow your eyes to travel along the synopsis that follows as to why the San Diego Zoo and the San Diego Wild Animal Park are always at the top of my “must-see” list when friends come to town.
